Service Description
What the service is for.
EarLink is intended to help users with live speech interpretation and translation. Features may include speech capture, transcription, text translation, synthetic speech output, local history, and account-related or support functionality.
Accounts
Account use, if offered.
The current version of the app may be used without creating an account for core live translation features. If we later offer optional accounts or account-linked features, you are responsible for any information you submit, for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials, and for activity that occurs through your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
Acceptable Use
What you must not do.
- Do not use the service in violation of law, regulation, or another person's rights.
- Do not use the service to harass, impersonate, deceive, exploit, or harm others.
- Do not attempt to interfere with the security, availability, or integrity of the service.
- Do not reverse engineer, scrape, copy, or misuse the service except as permitted by law.
- Do not rely on the service where translation errors could reasonably cause serious harm without independent verification.
Accuracy and Availability
Important limits of a translation product.
Translations, transcripts, language detection, speaker routing, and text-to-speech output may be imperfect, incomplete, delayed, unavailable, or wrong. Background noise, accents, network conditions, device limitations, and third-party service performance can affect results.
The service is not a substitute for professional human interpretation in high-risk situations, including medical, legal, emergency, safety-critical, or regulatory contexts.
Third-Party Services
Parts of the service may depend on third parties.
EarLink may rely on third-party infrastructure, speech recognition, translation, text-to-speech, app store, cloud, and analytics providers. We are not responsible for outages, policy changes, or acts or omissions of third-party services that are outside our reasonable control.
Termination
When access may end.
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the service if needed to protect users, comply with law, prevent abuse, or address security, operational, or payment issues. You may stop using the service at any time.
Disclaimers and Limits
Limits on warranties and liability.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, EarLink will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising out of or related to use of the service.
